According to EA Sports, Georgia and LSU have the SEC's most 'top- rated' players. In a ranking of college football's top 70 players, the Bulldogs and the Bengal Tigers have three each. Only one Alabama Crimson Tide player made the top 70. That player is Ryan Coleman-Williams.
Alabama fans can argue that cornerback Zabien Brown and linebacker Yhonzae Pierre should have been rated in the top 70. EA Sports rated the Alabama defense as college football's sixth-best and second-best in the SEC behind Georgia.
Crimson Tide fans have another reason to question EA Sports' rankings. According to EA, five SEC football teams are among college football's top 10. Alabama is not one of them. The five are Texas (No. 5), LSU (No. 7), Ole Miss (No. 8), Georgia (No. 9), and Oklahoma (No. 10).
Alabama Crimson Tide Opponents Lacking Top Talent
Alabama fans can take some pleasure from the ratings for three 2026 SEC opponents. Why? Because there are none. No player from Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, or Auburn made the top 70 players list. Alabama fans can chuckle at Auburn's roster, but if EA's top player ratings identify true game-changers, some Alabama opponents have an advantage over the Crimson Tide.
According to EA Sports' ratings, in Alabama's regular season, the Tide will compete against 12 of college football's top 67 players. The 12 were rated from 88 to 93. Ryan Coleman-Williams was rated 91.
