  • The Alabama Crimson Tide lost 10 defenders to the Transfer Portal. Damon Payne and Devonta Smith were the biggest contributors, choosing other teams. Among the other eight defensive players are three or four players who may blossom with expanded game action on their new teams. A couple could have tremendous 2025 seasons. Alabama's defense was diminished only minimally by the attrition because it is likely that only three of the ten would have challenged for a two-deep role. On the plus side, Wommack added three probable two-deep transfers, two with considerable game experience.
  • The Alabama Football offense will be improved with Ryan Grubb and Kalen DeBoer combining to orchestrate the Crimson Tide offense. Last season, Alabama Football was No. 34 among FBS teams in Scoring Offense, in games against Power Five opponents. It will produce more points in 2025.
