Alabama baseball is off to a 5-0 start to the 2025 season, taking care of business against overmatched opponents. The Crimson Tide swept Bradley last weekend and then won two mid-week games in dominating fashion.

Alabama beat Middle Tennessee State and Alabama State in back-to-back games on Tuesday and Wednesday by a combined score of 27-3.

Now, Rob Vaughn takes his team to Jacksonville, Florida for the Jax Baseball Classic this weekend in what will be the first real tests of the season for Alabama.

The Tide will participate in a round-robin tournament and will play Coastal Carolina on Friday, No. 12 NC State on Saturday, and Ohio State on Sunday. This will be a good measuring stick for Alabama. If they can win two of the three games this weekend, it would be a successful trip to the sunshine state.

Alabama will go with the same trio of starting pitchers this weekend that it did against Bradley last weekend. Lefty Zane Adams will get the ball for Friday's matchup with Coastal Carolina, Riley Quick on Saturday against NC State, and then Bobby Alcock on Sunday for the early-bird matchup with Ohio State.

Led by star shortstop Justin Lebron, Alabama's bats have been on fire to begin this season. They did get some bad news, though, with transfer infielder Garrett Stanton undergoing surgery to repair a broken finger he received after getting hit by a bitch during the Middle Tennessee game.

With Stanton out, Jason Torres is sliding over to third base and Brennen Norton will play second.
