Alabama baseball has one final tune-up weekend series before starting SEC play. The Crimson Tide are a perfect 14-0 and debuted this week in the D1 Baseball Top 25 poll at No. 23. They host Presbyterian for a three-game series at Sewell-Thomas this weekend.

Presbyterian enters the weekend at 7-7 and fresh off of an 11-2 loss at No. 4 Clemson on Wednesday.

Alabama went 2-0 in midweek action, thumping Jacksonville State on the road on Tuesday and then scoring their second ranked win of the season by beating No. 19 Troy 3-1 in Tuscaloosa on Wednesday night.

Following this weekend's matchup with Presbyterian, the Crimson Tide will face UAB in Birmingham on Tuesday before traveling to College Station next weekend to open up SEC play against Texas A&M. That series will be a perfect measuring stick opportunity for Rob Vaughn's team.

Vaughn will use his normal weekend rotation with Zane Adams on Friday, Riley Quick on Saturday, and Bobby Alcock on Sunday. Presbyterian will counter with Kyle Mueller, Tristan McGregor, and Robbie Boykin.

Justin Lebron comes into the weekend leading the SEC in homers and RBI. He's hit 9 homeruns and driven in 34 runs in 14 games so far. He's slashing an obscene .364/.471/.964.

The Tide's offense has been doing a lot of the heavy lifting and Vaughn hopes his pitching staff will continue to develop. Quick has been outstanding in his return from Tommy John surgery, posting a 1.64 ERA in 11 innings this year.

But Alcock is at 4.35 and Adams at 5.11, and that hasn't been against the level of competition that awaits the Crimson Tide once SEC play begins. Alabama has the offense to carry it a long way, but this team will ultimately go as far as its pitching can take it.
