Alabama baseball couldn't have asked for a better start to the season as they enter this weekend's series with North Dakota State. The Crimson Tide is 9-0 coming off of a 20-11 midweek thumping of Jacksonville State. That followed up Alabama's thrilling championship at the Jax College Baseball Classic, which included a 10-run comeback win over Ohio State.

Led by Justin Lebron and Will Hodo, Alabama's bats have been popping this year. The lineup is strong, but the Crimson Tide will need more from its pitching staff moving forward if it wants to be a serious contender in the SEC.

North Dakota State should provide little resistance this weekend as they enter just 1-6 with just a single win over UT Rio Grande Valley on the resume. A three-game sweep this weekend would move Rob Vaughn's crew to 12-0, and might be enough to finally earn them some respect in the D1Baseball.com Top 25.

Alabama will stick with its normal weekend rotation so far this year. Zane Adams will be on the bump on Friday, Riley Quick on Saturday, and Bobby Alcock on Sunday.

Coming back from Tommy John surgery, Quick has been outstanding in seven innings across two starts. He's only given up three hits, no earned runs, one walk, and eight strikeouts.

At the dish, Justin Lebron has been as good as any player in college baseball so far this season to the surprise of absolutely no one in Tuscaloosa. He's hitting .412 with six homers and 21 RBI. Lebron has back-to-back multi-homer games, hitting two to help Alabama come from behind against Ohio State and two more in the Tide's bludgeoning of Jacksonville State on Tuesday.
