The Philadelphia Eagles fell to the Los Angeles Chargers in a game where turnovers seemed to be the key to the game. The Eagles lost in overtime on a game-sealing interception by former Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts, and it wasn't his first turnover of the night.
The worst of the turnovers came when Hurts somehow ended up turning the ball over twice in one single play. Hurts was picked off in the middle of the second quarter by Da'Shawn Hand, who was then tackled by an Eagles player, who ended up causing Hand to fumble the ball. Hurts then picked up the fumble and tried to run it before he fumbled the ball, and the Chargers were able to recover.
This means that Hurts had two turnovers in one play, which has never happened before, at least dating back to 1978, which is as far back as the research goes by Elias Sports Bureau.
From Elias Sports Bureau: We checked back to 1978, which is as far back as we could, and no player before tonight committed two turnovers on one play.

Jalen Hurts: making history
That is not the type of history that Hurts wants to be making, especially amid a four-interception night. Hurts struggled to keep the ball in the hands of the Eagles' offense, and it ultimately led to the Chargers walking away with the win.
That loss luckily didn't hurt the Eagles in terms of their division, as they are still leading the NFC East by a good margin. It does, however, drop their chances of getting the first round by significantly, as the Eagles now sit in the 3-seed in the NFC playoff picture.
The Eagles came into the season as the reigning Super Bowl Champions, but this season has been a far cry from what they were able to accomplish last year. Hurts is struggling in the pass game, Saquon Barkley has almost 600 fewer rushing yards than he did at this time last year, and even the defense is struggling at times.
Hurts will look to get his team right before the playoffs, but this loss certainly doesn't help.
