Jalen Milroe runs lightning quick 40-yard dash at Alabama's Pro Day

After declining to run at the NFL Combine, Jalen Milroe ran the 40-yard dash at Alabama's Pro Day on Wednesday. Predictably, it was lightning quick.

A lot of eyes are on Jalen Milroe today at Alabama's Pro Day. The polarizing QB has seen his draft stock fall from the Top 10 range all the way into the second and even third round range depending on where you look.

There's a gap between the 2025 NFL Draft's perceived top two QBs - Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders - and the rest of the field. Meaning Milroe still has time a little over a month before the draft to work his way back into the first round discussion as the No. 3 overall QB on boards.

Remember, it only takes one team to fall in love with you.

Milroe increased his chances of seeing a team fall in love with him with a lightning-quick 40-yard dash time at Alabama's Pro Day. Milroe declined the run at the combine a few weeks ago. Some media and scouts questioned that decision.

Milroe rectified that on Tuesday:

Jalen Milroe is one of the top athletes in the 2025 NFL Draft class

Milroe's 4.37 40-yard dash is the 2nd fastest time ever recorded for a QB, narrowly behind Michael Vick:

Milroe being that fast is not news to anyone who has seen him play, but putting that number on paper is still big for his draft stock as it is proof of concept. His legs remain his greatest strength and he was rarely caught from behind when he got a head of steam.

Milroe has no interest in changing positions, but with his speed, it would not be a surprise to see teams use him in a Taysom Hill-like role in the NFL for the first year or two while he continues to develop as a passer.

One of the teams that seems to be enamored with him is the Pittsburgh Steelers. Head coach Mike Tomlin and Steelers brass took Milroe out to dinner in Tuscaloosa on Monday night on the eve of Alabama's Pro Day. Pittsburgh has the No. 21 pick in the first round of the draft and have a major need at the position.

The NFL Draft will take place in Green Bay between April 24th and April 26th.
