The NFL Combine was always going to be an important week for Jalen Milroe after he struggled at the Senior Bowl, which followed up a rough second-half of the season for the Alabama quarterback.
Following the Crimson Tide's 41-34 win over Georgia, Milroe looked like the Heisman front runner and an obvious Top 10 pick in the NFL Draft. He struggled down the stretch of the season and following a difficult week in Mobile at the Senior Bowl, the majority of experts looked at Milroe as more of a second or third round pick instead.
But the combine brought opportunity for Milroe, and somehow, bigger hands?

Small hands were a concern when measured in Mobile, but someone's measurement was clearly off.
But Milroe made waves on Saturday during the throwing portion of the combine, showing off his deep ball and his accuracy on those throws, which was one of his greatest strengths in his first season as a starter at Alabama.

It’s easy to fall in love watching Jalen Milroe. He’s such a specimen, and he is so talented. If you put on his 10 best plays he’d probably be the #1 pick in the draft. If you put on his 10 worst plays, you wouldn’t touch him. The highs are high. The lows are really low.

Jalen Milroe does not look like a guy who CAN’T throw NFL level passes

Milroe has chosen to not run the 40-yard dash at the combine in move that has mistified some. But everyone knows he's fast and one of the best athletes in the class. What he needed to do was have a good showing throwing the football, which he did. He throws a beautiful deep ball and can place it very, very well.
This isn't likely quite enough to put him back in the first round picture, but it does make his performance at Alabama's Pro Day all the more important. The No. 3 QB spot behind Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders is wide open. Milroe has the upside that will make him intriguing for NFL scouts if they are willing to be patient and allow him to develop.
Saturday was the first step in Milroe recovering his stock.
