Kadyn Proctor slated to miss Alabama's ReliaQuest Bowl matchup with Michigan

Reports have come out that Alabama starting left tackle Kadyn Proctor will miss the ReliaQuest Bowl against Michigan due to a shoulder injury that required surgery. That's a problem against a talented Wolverines defensive line.

According to reports, Alabama starting left tackle Kadyn Proctor will miss the Crimson Tide's ReliaQuest Bowl matchup against Michigan on New Year's Eve. Proctor is slated to have surgery on the injured shoulder, the same shoulder that kept him out of the first two games of the season.

It was recently announced that star safety Malachi Moore had surgery and would miss the ReliaQuest Bowl, so the Crimson Tide will now be down two starters for the bowl game.

Proctor earned All-SEC second team honors this season and showed vast improvement from his freshman season.

Alabama is likely to turn to redshirt freshman Wilkin Formby at left tackle. Formby began the year as the team's starting right tackle, but ultimately lost the job to Elijah Pritchett. Formby struggled mightily in Alabama's win over South Florida, which led to his benching.

Being without Proctor and having question marks now at both tackle positions will be a concern for Alabama agaisnt a Michigan team that is stout on the defensive line.

Star Wolverines DT Mason Graham opted out of the game to prepare for the NFL Draft, but Michigan still has a ton of talent on the defensive line and they will attack both Crimson Tide tackles to try and expose the weakness.

This will be a big opportunity for Formby to try and build some positive momentum for the 2025 season. Alabama's offensive line for next season should be a strength, but settling on a right tackle between Formby and Pritchett will be key to the cohesiveness of the unit.
