Fresh off an impressive 30-14 win over Vanderbilt, Kalen DeBoer and Alabama got more good news. 3-star OL Jared Doughty, a fast-rising 2026 prospect, announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide. Doughty was in attendance for Alabama's win over Vanderbilt, the second gameday visit he's taken to Tuscaloosa recently. And that's ahead of an official visit set up for November 15th.

Alabama was a quick contender for Doughty following an offer. His recruitment was under the radar until the start of his senior season, but his tape has been strong enough to elicit offers from some of the top programs in the country.
Doughty was a one-time Georgia State commitment, but backed off that pledge in early September once the Power Four offers started coming in. Since the beginning of his senior season, Doughty has received offers from Georgia, Missouri, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Ohio State, Kentucky, and North Carolina. He went from an under-the-radar prospect to one of the most coveted players in the country.
That list of offers and how aggressively he has been pursued will tell you more than where he is currently ranked. Doughty is ranked as the No. 914 overall prospect and the No. 76 offensive tackle, according to the 247 composite.
Jared Doughty's commitment is another big recruiting win for Kalen DeBoer and Alabama
Alabama has recently landed two more commitments in the 2027 class, giving them four total. But Doughty's commitment is even bigger as a 2026 prospect, and likely secures the Tide's place in the Top 5.
Doughty is the 22nd commitment in the 2026 class for Alabama. They did the majority of the work over the summer, but have left a few spots open for impressive senior tape. Doughty certainly qualifies and helps bolster Alabama's offensive line class.
Doughty joins a class that features 4-star offensive linemen Sam Utu and Chris Booker, as well as 3-star Bear Fretwell, who the Crimson Tide flipped away from Georgia Tech. Utu and Booker both project as guards at the next level, while Fretwell and Doughty should be able to play tackle.
DeBoer and his staff have shown a willingness to cross-train guys, however, so it remains to be seen where those guys begin their college careers. It will likely depend on need and what Alabama loses heading into next season.
