Last week’s official visit weekend to Tuscaloosa was the most talented group that Alabama will host this offseason, and maybe the most talented official visit group that any program will host on campus throughout the spring.

Kalen DeBoer was able to parlay that weekend into serious momentum on the recruiting trail, landing a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Sam Utu and multiple predictions to add more important pieces to the 2026 recruiting class, including five-star safety Jireh Edwards.

With most of the top 2026 recruits set to announce their commitments in late June or early July after all their official visits are complete, Alabama might not start racking up highly-touted recruits for another few weeks, but with seven players in attendance for this weekend’s official visit, the Crimson Tide can keep the positive momentum rolling as DeBoer looks to construct another top five class in his second offseason in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama hosting seven recruits for major official visit weekend

  • Brandon Arrington, ATH (Spring Valley, CA): 5-star
  • Somourian Wingo, WR (St. Augustine, FL): 4-star
  • Elijah Golden, DL (Sarasota, FL): 4-star
  • Roman Voss, ATH (Jackson, MN): 4-star
  • Nick Abrams II, LB (Owings Mills, MD): 4-star
  • Wilson Zierer, OT (Rabun Gap, GA): 3-star
  • Karon Mayock, S (Miami, FL): 3-star

Brandon Arrington is the clear headliner of this weekend’s official visit. The five-star athlete has taken official visits to Penn State, Washington, and Texas A&M, and still has trips to Oregon and USC on the docket. A California native, Arrington could be difficult to pry away from the West Coast, but if he does commit, he’ll build on the biggest strength of DeBoer’s program, in the defensive backfield.

The Tide are expected to field an elite secondary in 2025 with the return of Domani Jackson and Zabien Brown at cornerback, along with Keon Sabb and Bray Hubbard at safety. However, the group also has plenty of depth behind those experienced veterans, with five-star Dijon Lee Jr. and highly-rated four-stars Ivan Taylor and Chuck McDonald heading to Tuscaloosa in the 2025 recruiting class.

The 2026 class, though it only has six commits heading into this weekend, already features five-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds and four-star Zyan Gibson as its two highest-rated players. That logjam of talent could push Arrington in a different direction, but with his two-way talent as an elite wide receiver, DeBoer could unveil a Travis Hunter-esque plan for his development.
