Alabama safety Keon Sabb is back for another rodeo with the Crimson Tide. He made a strong first impression last year after transferring from Michigan before being lost for the season with an injury he suffered against Tennessee. He's a key piece to an Alabama secondary in 2025 that should be among the very best in college football.
Though he is widely expected to enter the NFL Draft following his redshirt junior season, Alabama could have a Sabb on the roster for many years to come.
That's because Keon has two younger brothers, both of whom are high-profile recruits in their own right. 3-star ATH Amari Sabb is an uncommitted 2026 recruit who has many high-profile teams lining up for him in hopes he comes as a package deal for his younger, more highly-regarded brother. Xavier Sabb is a 5-star ATH in the 2027 class, capable of playing WR or safety at the next level.
According to On3's Steve Wiltfong, it might be an Alabama vs. Oregon battle in the recruitment of the Sabb brothers, who have scheduled gameday visits for both:
Alabama and Oregon the programs leading the charge in the recruitment of 2026 ATH Amari Sabb and his 2027 brother in five-star ATH Xavier Sabb. Visits are set to each campus for the fall. Story: https://t.co/JDGfjH2mVk

Alabama will get many chances to impress the Sabb brothers on gamedays
Chances are, the gameday visit the Sabb brothers have set with Alabama this fall won't be the only time they are in Tuscaloosa. If they aren't visiting other programs, they're likely to end up in Tuscaloosa to watch their older brother play. That gives Kalen DeBoer and the Tide coaching staff a massive advantage over Oregon and the others competing for their services.
Amari Sabb is probably not a guy who would be recruited as highly as he is being recruited on his own merits. That's not to say he isn't a talented football player in his own right; he certainly is, but his diminutive stature calls into question whether he can handle the rigors of big-time college football.
He stands at just 5-foot-9 and a listed 155 pounds. It's hard to imagine him playing in the SEC at that weight, even as a chance-of-pace type of player or return man. He'll bulk up in college strength and conditioning programs, but it's fair to wonder whether his frame can add enough weight for it to make enough of a difference.
But it's a worthwhile gamble if it means you land Xavier Sabb as well. The younger brother is one of the top prospects in the 2027 class. He is currently ranked as the No. 14 overall player in the 247 composite rankings.
