More good news for Alabama football on the injury front with another veteran expected to be able to play on Saturday at Georgia.

Shortly after Kane Wommack announced that Tim Keenan would play against the Bulldogs, Kalen DeBoer was asked if he expected star Alabama RB Jam Miller to be able to play on Saturday:

"I do," DeBoer said. "I do expect him to play. He practiced yesterday."

Both Miller and Keenan were considered game-time decisions against Wisconsin in Week 3, but were held out of Alabama's 38-14 win over the Badgers. If push came to shove, both probably could have played, but giving them an extra two weeks to rest before the Crimson Tide's SEC opener in Athens always made the most sense.

Miller generated a lot of buzz during fall camp, and a big senior season was expected for the Texas native. He suffered a setback with a dislocated collarbone during Alabama's final scrimmage of fall camp, which held him out for the first three games.

His return is massive for an Alabama running game that is still trying to find its footing

Alabama needs Jam Miller to spark a struggling ground game

Lost in the offensive fireworks provided by Ty Simpson over the last two weeks is that Alabama is still not running the ball very well. Alabama ranks 121st in the country in rushing success rate, per Game on Paper.

The offensive line has to shoulder a lot of the blame for the struggles, but it's obviously a massive boost to get back an experienced running back this week. Through three games, redshirt freshman Kevin Riley has led the way for the Crimson Tide, earning back-to-back starts against UL Monroe and Wisconsin following flashes vs. Florida State. He's likely to provide a nice compliment to Miller.

Miller was Alabama's leading rusher in the RB room a year ago, totaling 668 yards and seven touchdowns. He was said to be looking better than ever during the preseason, and he could be the missing piece to the puzzle for an Alabama offense that has looked extremely explosive in recent weeks.

The senior RB is also a more than capable receiver out of the backfield, as Georgia very well knows. He's caught two career touchdown passes, both coming on wheel routes against the Bulldogs: one in the SEC Championship Game in 2023, and again last season in the Tide's home win over Kirby Smart and company.

Miller has been itching to get on the field - and Alabama fans are fired up to see the star running back in action.
