Just over a year ago, five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton committed to the Colorado Buffaloes as the No. 1 OT in the class of 2024.
Just one day ago, Seaton announced he was entering the transfer portal, leaving the Buffs, and seeking greener pastures... or a greener paycheck, at the very least, according to reports about his rumored portal price.
After Seaton's announcement that he was transferring, reports started flooding the internet that the freshman offensive tackle was asking for upwards of $2.5 million from his next program.
Jordan Seaton would be worth every penny
Now, $2.5 million is obviously nothing to shrug your shoulders at; that's a whole lot of money for a collegiate player, especially one who isn't a star quarterback or a more experienced athlete. However, Seaton is the No. 1 OT and the No. 4 overall player in the portal.
Simply put, as the Alabama Crimson Tide and head coach Kalen DeBoer search for an elite offensive tackle to protect (whoever will be) the team's next starting quarterback, they shouldn't immediately cross out coughing up the $2.5 million.

On3 and Rivals list Seaton's NIL value at just $1.7 million, but with boosters for the Florida Gators (a team heavily recruiting the OT) reporting that he's asking for $2.5 million, people should undenaibly expect the bigger number to be heading in Seaton's direction.
The Tide has already missed out on big-time transfer prospects with other programs, like the Texas Longhorns, offering more money to top targets, like Cam Coleman and Hollywood Smothers.
Now, the fact that DeBoer and his staff whiffed on Coleman and Smothers does not mean that Alabama will also miss out on Seaton. In fact, the program actually has the money to spend on the five-star OT since it didn't write the hefty checks on the wideout and running back.
No matter who Seaton ends up playing for next season, it's more likely than not that the team will have written a check for $2.5 million, if not more. DeBoer needs to make sure he's willing to do what's necessary to bring in the necessary talent, no matter the price tag.
