Welcome back to the SEC, Will Wade.
It's time to break those FBI jackets out of the closet (RIP, Fluff).

Former LSU head coach Will Wade is once again current LSU head coach Will Wade. Just four years ago, LSU fired Wade for recruiting violations. After two years at McNeese State and one year at NC State, Wade is back in Baton Rouge because, well, nothing really matters in college athletics except for winning at all costs.
And the Tigers have not been good at basketball since Wade left. And Wade, despite all of his faults, won at a high level at LSU.
Unless he was head-to-head against Nate Oats.
Nate Oats dominated Will Wade during his first tenure at LSU
Oats and Wade had some epic battles on the hardwood at Alabama and LSU, and Oats typically got the better of him, winning six straight in the series before Wade was let go.
There was no more high-profile meeting between the two than in the 2021 SEC Tournament Championship Game, when Alabama won a thriller as LSU missed multiple shots at the buzzer, and Oats' celebration caused a bit of a stir.
Wade's return to Baton Rouge will inevitably make LSU better at basketball, but at what cost?
The Tigers just set a dangerous precedent with news breaking of Wade's impending return to the program before they even announced that Matt McMahon had been let go. College basketball coaching is a fraternity, and this move won't sit well with other coaches for either LSU or Wade.
LSU has shown its true colors over the last few months. From hiring a coach they already fired because he cheated before showing their current coach the door, to courting and stealing Lane Kiffin away from Ole Miss while the Rebels were in the hunt for the national title.
If karma is real, then both Kiffin and Wade will fail spectacularly in Baton Rouge, and LSU will get what's coming to them.
