An Alabama fan-favorite, defensive back Malachi Moore, will get his NFL shot. With the 130th overall pick in the 4th Round of the NFL Draft, the New York Jets traded up to select Moore.

Moore was a five-year starter at Alabama and cemented himself as a Crimson Tide legend with his decision to return for a fifth-year at Alabama last year to help bridge the transition from the Nick Saban to Kalen DeBoer eras.
Moore is a leader who plays with outstanding instincts. He doesn't have elite athletic traits, but he's a football player. He's not afraid to stick his nose in there and make tackles. He's got a ton of experience having played major college football for five years. He will be able to play quickly if the Jets need him to do so.
Moore is a sure tackler. His missed tackle rate for the Crimson Tide last season was only 6.8%.
Moore had an exceptional run in Tuscaloosa. He was on the 2020 National Championship team and ultimately won three SEC titles and ran off a perfect 5-0 record in the Iron Bowl. He showed his versatility, starting his career as a nickel corner before moving to safety. He'll likely play a little of both in the NFL.
Malachi Moore is the 4th Alabama player selected in the 2025 NFL Draft
Moore is the first Alabama player to hear his name called on day three of the NFL Draft, and fourth overall. Tyler Booker (12th) and Jihaad Campbell (31st) were 1st Round picks on the opening night of the draft. Jalen Milroe was taken with the 92nd overall pick of the third round.
Moore joins a Jets team that has one former Tide player on the current roster in DT Quinnen Williams. Earlier in the offseason, the Jets released former Alabama LB CJ Mosley.
Alabama still has several NFL Draft hopefuls on the board. Shortly after Moore was picked, Tide LB Que Robinson was selected by the Denver Broncos. Players such as DT Tim Smith, and TEs CJ Dippre and Robbie Ouzts are hopeful day three selections.
