The SEC announced its 2024-25 Men's Basketball awards on Monday as voted on by the league coaches.

The league announced the All-SEC 1st, 2nd, and 3rd teams, All-Defensive teams, All-Freshman teams, and individual honorees for Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, etc.

Alabama's Mark Sears and Labaron Philon were honored.

Sears was named to the All-SEC 1st team. He was joined by Florida's Walter Clayton Jr., Texas A&M's Wade Taylor IV, Tennessee's Zakai Zeigler, and Auburn's Johni Broome, who won the SEC Player of the Year.

Sears couldn't match his ruthlessly efficient season last year, but he still had an outstanding year in leading Alabama to a 24-7 regular season record and what will be a 1 or 2-seed in the NCAA Tournament. Sears is averaging 19.2 points and 5.0 assists per game on the season, both of which lead the team.

Alabama did not place a player on the second or third team All-SEC teams, nor did they have a player named to the All-Defensive Team.

Labaron Philon, however, was named to the All-Freshman team alongside Oklahoma's Jeremiah Fears, Georgia's Asa Newell, Auburn's Tahaad Pettiford, and Texas' Tre Johnson, who won SEC Freshman of the Year.

Philon was a late addition to Alabama's 2024 recruiting class but made an immediate impact on the Crimson Tide. Philon played in all 31 games for the Crimson Tide in the regular season, making 23 starts. He has averaged 10.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.

Recently, Philon has grown significantly on the defensive end of the floor and as a shooter. Since February 11th, Philon has hit 12-of-29 (41.4%) of his attempts from deep.
