Trailing 20-17 to open the fourth quarter, Alabama had to have it. Coming off a critical third-down throw from Keelon Russell to Rico Scott for a 48-yard gain to the 5-yard-line on the last play of the third quarter, Alabama needed to punch it in in the redzone.

On a 1st-and-goal, a beautifully designed play by Keelon Russell saw sophomore TE Marshall Pritchett break wide open in the middle of the endzone. Russell lofted him an easy touchdown pass to give the Crimson Tide the lead.

The touchdown was huge. The celebration might have been even better.

Pritchett used the football as a beer and pretended to shotgun it:

Marshall Pritchett and Alabama's TE room came up huge vs. Texas A&M

Between Pritchett, Kaleb Edwards, and Josh Ford, Alabama's TE room combined for seven catches for 65 yards and two touchdowns. It was the tight ends who scored the two second-half touchdowns that lifted the Crimson Tide to the 11-point win.

On the ensuing drive following Pritchett's touchdown reception, it was Kaleb Edwards who capped the 5-play, 55-yard touchdown drive that put the game to bed. On a 3rd-and-goal from the 8-yard-line, Russell hit Edwards for the touchdown on a beautiful back-shoulder toss:

Early in the season, the Alabama TE room was getting praise predominantly because of their ability to move people as blockers. But the receiving threats have always been there, particularly with Pritchett and Edwards, who can be real mismatches when they go out and run routes.

But we'd be remiss to ignore Ford, who is still just three weeks removed from breaking his arm against Mississippi State. The fact that he's even out there playing shows his toughness, but the fact that he's also catching passes with one good arm says it all about him.

Ford hauled in the first pass of the game on a play-action from Russell. He caught another later and finished with 23 yards on two receptions.

That room came up huge against Texas A&M. Pritchett's touchdown reception and ensuing celebration brought a much-needed lighter moment in a tense situation for the Crimson Tide. Alabama's backs were against the wall, but Pritchett and the offense were still playing loose.

Alabama fans might have been feeling the pressure from the Bryant-Denny Stadium seats or at home from their couches, but the team didn't. Pritchett celebrating like that shows that he - and the rest of the offense - were just ready to make a play when their numbers got called.
