University of Miami Hurricanes transfer student athlete, Isaiah Horton, is set to make an immediate impact for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

At 6’4” and 205 pounds, Horton is a different style of wide receiver than Alabama currently has on its roster.  Horton, a Murfreesboro, Tennessee native, was a 4-star prospect coming out of high school in 2022, a year in which he redshirted.

In the 2024 season, Horton had 56 catches for 616 yards, with 5 TDs for the Hurricanes.

Former teammates recently shared their thoughts on the talented receiver who they believe is set to take the next step as a big time playmaker.

It is currently believed that Horton will be the number 3 option at receiver for Alabama behind Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard in the slot position.

Former Miami receiver Xavier Restrepo, told reporters at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, “He’s a one-on-one nightmare,” Restrepo said. “Matchup nightmare. He’s a great guy off the field as well. He’s created some really good habits just watching me and Cam (Ward) this past year. The guy’s dangerous. He knows football, has great hands, great size and he has deceptive speed.”

“He has to just keep on being consistent,” Restrepo said. “There were highs and lows last year, but that guy’s ready to take the step. I’ve talked to him recently; I mean he’s ready to blow up.”

Former Hurricane tight end Elijah Arroyo stated, “That’s my guy,” Arroyo said. “They’re getting a dog. He’s a hard worker. He’s gonna put his head down and do what he has to do to succeed on the field.”

Former Hurricane Offensive lineman Jalen Rivers agreed with his teammates’ assessment of the new Alabama receiver. He described the physical attributes that make Horton effective.

“A long body,” Rivers said. “Tall. Catches the ball. He can make plays. He’s consistent and he has that edge about him that he wants to get better. He doesn’t want to settle. To be great you have to think that, you have to have that mindset, so he has that.”

The most recent scouting reports for Horton have detailed very impressive athletic ability and attributes.

According to Pro Football Focus, “Horton has soft hands, and can hang onto tough catches in traffic. At 6-4, he's got long arms and a big catch radius to corral passes that are slightly off target. He dropped just four passes all season, per Pro Football Focus, despite being one of UM's most heavily-targeted receivers”.

Alabama lost four receivers to the transfer portal this off season with Kobe Prentice (Baylor), Kendrick Law (Kentucky) and Emmanuel Henderson (Kansas) as well as freshman Caleb Odom (Ole Miss) all headed elsewhere for the 2025 season, so Horton was a crucial pick up from the portal.

Horton will have two years of eligibility remaining at Alabama.
