New Alabama QB commit Jett Thomalla, who flipped to the Crimson Tide from Iowa State this week, had a bit of an uneven performance on day one of the Elite 11 on Tuesday.
He bounced back in a big way on Wednesday, putting himself in contention to win the event heading into Thursday's day three.
In the Pro Day Event, Thomalla finished tied with the highest number of completions, connecting on 18-of-20 attempts, including dropping a few dimes:

Thomalla was a big riser in the second day at the Elite 11 and is very much in contention to win the event. Current Alabama QB Keelon Russell won the Elite 11 last season, and it was his performance there a year ago that began his meteoric rise in recruiting rankings, culminating with a monster senior season at Duncanville and a No. 2 overall finish in the composite rankings.
According to Rivals, Thomalla was the 5th best performer on day two after not finishing in their Top 10 on day one:

Jett Thomalla could see a big rise in the recruiting rankings over the coming months
When Jett Thomalla inevitably rises in the recruiting rankings over the coming months, get ready to hear rival fan bases complaining about the "Bama Bump", perhaps the silliest complaint fans make. No program has developed more pros than Alabama: the "Bama Bump" is because the staff in Tuscaloosa frequently evaluates players better than anyone else. That was obviously true under Nick Saban, and early returns have shown it hasn't changed under Kalen DeBoer.
Alabama identified Keelon Russell when he was a low 4-star and committed to SMU. He ended up rising to 5-star status and was the crown jewel of the Tide's 2025 recruiting class.
Thomalla probably won't jump all the way to where Russell finished, but I think it's a safe bet that he will be a big riser during his senior season now that the microscope is on him. He's a legit 6-foot-4 QB with a big arm who can make all the throws.
He had a monster junior season at Millard South in Omaha, leading his team to the state title and setting state classification records for passing yards and touchdowns.
As of now, Thomalla is a consensus 4-star recruit and is ranked as the No. 16 QB and No. 232 overall player in the composite rankings.
His performance at the Elite 11 is the first step in him moving up the boards. If he can finish well on Thursday, and combine that with another impressive season of high school football, Thomalla could become one of the top QBs in this class.
