It is a big week for former Alabama QB Jalen Milroe as he is in Mobile for the Senior Bowl. His performance will be heavily scrutinized as the most polarizing prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft class.

The former Crimson Tide signal-caller has plenty of supporters who believe in his long-term potential thanks to his elite athletic ability and arm strength. There are also plenty of doubters who watched him struggle with turnovers and reading coverages the last two years at Alabama that don't believe he'll ever be a viable starting quarterback in the NFL.

What you or I might think about Milroe is irrelevant. The only opinions that matter now are the 32 NFL franchises who will be making the decision over the next few months about whether or not to draft him.

CBS Sports' Chris Trapaso continues to be high on Milroe's draft stock. In his latest mock, Milroe is projected to be the No. 3 overall pick to the New York Giants. The Giants moved on from Daniel Jones and will be looking to identify its QB of the future this offseason.

The Giants are an interesting landing spot for Milroe. They don't have a reliable veteran option that would allow Milroe to sit and learn. Maybe they would sign one in this scenario. If not, expecting Milroe to play right away and be effective in the NFL could be the final nail in the coffin for the current New York regime.

The Giants are coached by former Alabama OC Brian Daboll, who was the playcaller for the Crimson Tide's 2017 National Championship team. Daboll struggled to call the plays effectively and build the offense around Jalen Hurts, who at that time in his career was a pretty limited passer.

Things changed for Daboll when freshman Tua Tagovailoa would come in, and Tagovailoa ultimately replaced Hurts in the second half of Alabama's National Championship win over Georgia.

That's why this pick doesn't make a ton of sense to me. I can't imagine Daboll signing off on a QB so similar to what Hurts was during their time together in Tuscaloosa. I think he would want more of a polished passer, and the sense of urgency for the Giants is high. They need more of a win now player than Milroe is.

Trapaso has one additional Alabama player going in the first round. OG Tyler Booker is mocked to the Seattle Seahawks with the 18th pick.
