After Week 5, Alabama is one of only three undefeated SEC football teams. Two of the unbeaten teams will battle in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night, but the big game will not feature the Football Power Index's No. 1 team. In ESPN's new FPI rankings, the Georgia Bulldogs slipped to No. 2, below Ohio State.

Five of the FPI's top 10 teams are SEC teams: Georgia (No. 2), Texas (No. 4), Alabama (No. 6), LSU (No. 8), and Tennessee (No. 10).

SEC Football ESPN FPI Big Movers

The SEC's biggest mover was the Missouri Tigers. After soundly beating Florida 45-17, the Tigers moved up 17 spots to No. 18. All other SEC moves (five spots or more) were downward. Mississippi State dropped seven spots to No. 27. Florida dropped five spots to No. 15. South Carolina dropped five spots to No. 38, and Arkansas dropped five spots to No. 65.

The FPI now gives only three SEC teams a higher-than-3.9% probability of winning the conference. Georgia is at 32.8%, Texas at 31.3%, and Alabama at 27.4%.

According to ESPN Analytics, Alabama is now the favorite to beat Georgia, with a 52.6% win probability.

The FPI has nine SEC teams with double-digit probability of making the Playoff field: Texas, 91.4%, Alabama, 87.7%, Georgia, 85%, LSU, 37.9%, Tennessee, 27.1%, Florida, 14.6%, Mississippi State, 12.1%, Ole Miss, 11.4%, and Missouri, 10%.

Only three SEC teams have a higher than 2.3% probability of winning the National Championship Game: Texas at 14.9%, Georgia at 13.9%, and Alabama at 12.5%.

Only one SEC Playoff contender shows up well in current Strength of Schedule (SOS) rankings. Texas is No. 2. Georgia has the worst current SOS among SEC teams at No. 97. Alabama has moved up to a respectable No. 23 SOS. Compared to Texas and Georgia, Alabama has the toughest remaining SOS. Alabama has college football's 11th-toughest remaining schedule; Georgia is No. 20, and Texas is No. 22.
