Oddsmakers have more faith in Alabama football in 2025 than the media

Oddsmakers have begun releasing national championship odds for the 2025 season and they remain high on Alabama football despite the media narrative otherwise.

With a week to go until Ohio State and Notre Dame play for the National Championship, oddsmakers have begun releasing odds for next season's champion already. Early odds shows that the oddsmakers still think highly of the Crimson Tide, holding them in a higher regard than the media.

The media narrative has been that the dynasty is dead, buried, and gone. That narrative probably isn't wrong as in this new era of college football it's tough to see another dynastic run from anyone. Year in and year out roster turnover will be too great and the elite teams won't be able to stack depth like they did in the past.

Even still, coming off of a 9-4 season in Kalen DeBoer's first season in Tuscaloosa, the narrative is shifting a bit too much in the opposite direction.

On3's Andy Staples did not include Alabama in his Way too Early Top 10 released a couple of weeks ago. Our sister-site, Saturday Blitz, released its early Top 25 for next season and had the Crimson Tide shockingly low at No. 16.

There will be more early projections in the aftermath of next week's national title matchup. None of them figure to have the Crimson Tide in the top five. The highest I've seen Alabama ranked to date for next season is No. 8 by Bleacher Report.

Despite that, oddsmakers still think highly of the Crimson Tide. FanDuel has Alabama with the sixth-highest national title odds at +1400. They have the third-highest odds among SEC teams, behind only Texas and Georgia.

According to Bet Online, Alabama is tied for the sixth highest odds at +1600. They are tied with Notre Dame and again behind Texas and Georgia among SEC schools.

While it may be odd not to see Alabama as one of the two or three highest in title odds, oddsmakers still have faith in the Crimson Tide heading into year two under Kalen DeBoer.
