In 2022, Domani Jackson was the top cornerback in the country and a five-star recruit, then he went to USC. As a defensive player, there is no quicker way to hurt your stock than to play for a Lincoln Riley-coached team.

Jackson played 668 snaps for the Trojans in 2023 but was a part of the 103rd-ranked passing defense in the country. The 6-foot-1 190-pound corner played nearly all of his snaps at outside corner and allowed 20 catches on 31 targets for 411 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions and two pass breakups. He also missed seven tackles.

In Tuscaloosa, he’ll actually learn how to play defense, which will allow him to unlock his massive potential.

Alabama desperately needed an answer at corner after Kool-Aid McKinstry and Terrion Arnold both declared for the NFL draft, Trey Amos transferred to Ole Miss, and Caleb Down transferred to Ohio State. It appears that Jackson is DeBoer’s solution, but he’ll need to improve to stick on the outside in the SEC.
