The Alabama Basketball team has landed former Auburn Point Guard Aden Holloway in the transfer portal. The Freshman was a five-star recruit as the 3rd-ranked point guard and 16th-ranked player while ranking as the 28th-ranked transfer. Holloway struggled as a Freshman scoring just 7.3 points per game with 2.7 assists and 1.5 rebounds per game.

Nate Oats is betting on pure talent here as Holloway has all the talent to be a solid player but, hasn't put it all together yet. The Tide have a shortage of guards as Aaron Estrada ran out of eligibility while Rylan Griffen, Davin Cosby, and Kris Parker entered the transfer portal. The Alabama Basketball is also awaiting news on whether Mark Sears or Latrell Wrightsell Jr will be returning to Alabama or going to the NBA Draft.

If Mark Sears declares for the NBA Draft, Holloway will be in contention as the team's starting point guard. Nate Oats had high praise after playing Holloway this season saying the following:

"He's one of the best guards in the country, in my opinion."

Under Nate Oats, Holloway will look to regain his three-point shooting form after being regarded as one of the best shooters in High School before shooting 30.2% at Auburn. Overall, Holloway will be a great point guard for the Alabama Basketball team as he took care of the basketball with a 3 to 1 assists to turnovers ratio.

Alabama Basketball: Chance at a historic roster

The Alabama Basketball team has a chance at a historic roster if Mark Sears and Grant Nelson return for the 2024-25 season. The Tide will have six high-caliber players coming in with the three top 50 recruits, plus the transfers of Holloway, Houston Mallette, and Chris Youngblood. The biggest priority now for Nate Oats is landing a center as the team hosts Rutgers transfer Clifford Omoruyi this weekend.
