Alabama Basketball's Latrell Wrightsell announces he's coming back for 2024-25
The Alabama Basketball team has gotten massive news as guard Latrell Wrightsell Jr announced that he will be returning for his fifth and final season of college basketball. The transfer guard scored 8.9 points per game with 3.0 rebounds per game and 1.4 assists per game adding 1.1 steals per game on the defensive end.
The news is massive for Nate Oats as the team lost Rylan Griffen, Aaron Estrada, Davin Cosby Jr, and may lose Mark Sears at the guard position. Wrightsell will almost certainly be a starter for the Alabama Basketball team heading into 2024.
Latrell Wrightsell quickly became one of the Alabama Basketball team's better players in 2024 becoming a 44.7% three-point shooter while becoming one of the team's best perimeter defenders. The Tide certainly missed Wrightsell who dealt with injuries at times seeing the team's defense and shooting slip when Wrightsell was out of the lineup.
The Alabama Basketball team now has two important decisions coming as Grant Nelson and Mark Sears have until the end of May to decide if they'll fully declare for the NBA Draft or not. Nate Oats's roster is now taking shape returning Wrightsell while adding Chris Youngblood, Houston Mallette, and Aden Holloway. The Alabama Basketball team will have one of the deepest rosters in the country heading into 2024-25 which will get even deeper if Nelson and Sears return.
Could Alabama Basketball enter the season as one of the favorites?
The Alabama Basketball team will most likely enter the 2024-25 season as one of if not the favorite to win the National Title. If the Tide can return Mark Sears and Grant Nelson there won't be a deeper roster in the SEC or the country. The next step for the Alabama Basketball team is adding a center as they'll host Rutgers big man Clifford Omoruyi this week.
