The Alabama Basketball team is trending in the wrong direction heading into March Madness and their issues continue as guard Davin Cosby Jr will miss the tournament with a broken foot. Cosby was seen earlier in the day walking into the arena in a boot and when asked about the injury Oats confirmed that the guard broke his foot in practice.

Cosby has been a rotational piece all season playing eight minutes per game with 3.6 points per game. The Freshman was seeing an increased role over the past few weeks playing more than nine minutes per game in five of his last six games. At times Cosby Jr was an important piece for the Tide getting hot shooting against Ole Miss and will be missed as a 50% three-point shooter.

The injury won't sink the Tide's hopes in March however, you'd certainly prefer he's healthy. The team's rotation just got one player shorter creating an issue if Aaron Estrada or Mark Sears get in foul trouble.

Against a run-and-gun team in Charleston, the Tide could have certainly used a shooter of Cosby's caliber if they got behind in the game.

The Tide will, however, have big man Nick Pringle who flew to Spokane today after dealing with a personal issue giving the Tide one of their better rebounders.

Crimson Tide need to find any way to get to Second Weekend

The Alabama Basketball team has disappointed at times this season with their defense costing the team a serious chance at a league championship. However, not getting to the Second Weekend will be a disappointment. Charleston will play Alabama's style of play meaning the Tide should win with better players. If the Tide draws St. Mary's for Sunday they'll be playing a slower pace meaning they'll need to adapt and value possessions or jump out to a lead early forcing the Gaels to play the Tide's style.
