The Alabama Football team's recruiting hot streak continues as Kalen DeBoer has landed former Washington signee Noah Carter. The edge rusher is the eighth-ranked edge rusher in his class and the 82nd-ranked player overall in the 2024 recruiting class. This news comes a day after the Alabama Football team landed Ryan Williams bolstering the Alabama Football team's second-ranked recruiting class.
Carter was one of the top priorities for Kalen DeBoer and Courtney Morgan with the four-star edge rusher visiting this past weekend along with Jabbar Muhammad, Germie Bernard, Ryan Williams, Parker Brailsford, and Austin Mack. After adding Germie Bernard, Parker Brailsford, Austin Mack, and now Noah Carter the attention will turn towards landing Jabbar Muhammad, one of the nation's top cornerbacks who's deciding between Alabama Football, Oregon, and Texas.
The addition of Carter adds to a loaded recruiting class defensively with Carter joining four-star edge rushers Jayshawn Ross and Sterling Dixon. The Alabama Football team has a lot to replace at edge and along the defensive line with the departures of Dallas Turner, Chris Braswell, and Justin Eboigbe all entering this year's NFL Draft. The freshman along with LT Overton and returnees Keon Keeley, Keanu Koht, Jeremiah Alexander, and Justin Jefferson will all compete for a significant role at edge rusher entering the 2024 season.
While there's pessimism around some of the departures from the Alabama Football program, the incoming class of freshmen may be one of the greatest classes Nick Saban ever signed defensively. The group has three five-star cornerbacks after the final rankings adjustment in Jaylen Mbakwe, Zavier Mincey, and Zabien Brown. The team also will add two of the top safeties in the country in Peyton Woodyard and Rydarrius Morgan. The edge group features the 8th, 15th, and 22nd-ranked edge rushers in the country with Carter ranking the highest.
Alabama Football: Recruiting season in full swing
Last weekend served as Kalen DeBoer's first full-fledged recruiting weekend with top transfers and recruits visiting Tuscaloosa. DeBoer's staff has hit the road traveling all over the state of Alabama and neighboring states to help build relationships while maintaining connections that were built through Nick Saban's staff. One of the biggest concerns with Kalen DeBoer was his ability to recruit in the south, and so far you have to give him credit as his staff has made building in-state connections a massive point of emphasis. To this point, any doubts about DeBoer's ability to recruit have been shut down with the landing of Williams and a few transfers.
