It goes without saying that Alabama is one of the most popular and recognizable brands in the sporting world, and the success that Bama has enjoyed under Coach Nick Saban as well as historically makes it a very popular job.

Additionally, Kalen DeBoer’s track record of producing potent offenses is an obvious plus, not to mention the presence of proven skill position coaches. Top-notch coaches such as running backs coach Robert Gillespie and wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard would make the offensive coordinator job easier and more enjoyable.

Perhaps most importantly, Alabama’s talent on the offensive side of the ball is something to behold. Jalen Milroe has the most impressive physical tools of any quarterback in college football, and just needs the right hands to mold him into a generational player. Behind him, Ty Simpson, Dylan Lonergan, and Austin Mack are all very talented quarterbacks in their own right. I would argue that all three could start at the Power Five level and find success as early as this fall.

The running back room is equally loaded, spearheaded by junior Jam Miller and sophomore Justice Haynes. Bama’s revamped receiver room withstood some significant losses, but reloaded with 5-star Ryan Williams and Washington transfer Germie Bernard. There is hopeful speculation that this group could be better than the 2023 group, even given the NFL Draft and transfer portal departures.

Lastly, the Alabama offensive line is very promising. It is seeking to solidify its tackle positions, but the interior line could be the best in the nation. The return of guards Tyler Booker and Jaeden Roberts, plus the addition of former Washington center Parker Brailsford, should help to make the Crimson Tide a force on the ground.

For any elite offensive coordinator with confidence in his abilities, it would be a golden opportunity to coach this unit. Coach DeBoer has seemingly made good decisions and quality hires at every turn, so Bama fans would have to trust him should the OC job once again come open.
