Alabama Football: Crimson Tide flip Aeryn Hampton from Texas
The Alabama Football program made a massive push in the last 24 hours flipping Texas commit Aeryn Hampton to Alabama. Hampton is a four-star recruit listed as an athlete but, he'll most likely play safety in college football. The Crimson Tide stayed in this race despite Hampton committing to the Long Horns back in July.
Hampton may see consistent playing time as soon as his freshman season potentially replacing Malachi Moore at Star or slotting into one of the safety roles should Nick Saban move Caleb Downs to star. There's also a chance Alabama Football keeps Hampton as a wide receiver a position he's played in high school football as well.
Hampton first became a possibility for Alabama Football again on Tuesday night as it started to bubble up that Alabama had gotten back into the race potentially thanks to in-home visits by Tommy Rees and Nick Saban. This morning those rumors gained traction as multiple recruiting experts began predicting that Hampton would ultimately flip his commitment towards Alabama.
Alabama Football: Push for the Top Class
Despite most of the attention being on Early Signing Day recruiting is far from over for the 2024 signing class. With Georgia and Ohio State losing commits entering National Signing Day it slowly became a greater possibility that the Alabama Football Program could make a serious push for the Top Class in 24/7 sports rankings. The most important piece in the Alabama Football recruiting class is Ryan Williams, the five-star wide receiver did not sign on early signing day due to reclassifying, and will certainly be contacted by rival schools who will look to flip the talented wide receiver. With a majority of the prospects signed the Alabama Football team can now turn its focus towards filling certain depth holes via the transfer portal and traditional recruiting as recruiting has dwindled down.
