As we get closer and closer to the Super Bowl, the rooting interests of Alabama Football fans continue to get a little clearer if you no longer have a dog in the fight. We've lost some of the more fun alumni that we'd like to see win a Super Bowl over the past few weeks but, there are still some incredible storylines still left with Alabama Football players.

DeMeco Ryans and the Texans see their storybook ride come to an end

The most exciting team of Alabama Football alumni all season long was the DeMeco Ryans-led Houston Texans who saw their Cinderella run come to an end on Saturday. Christian Harris continued his dominant playoff run with seven tackles, one of which was for a loss. Henry To'oto'o finished the game with three tackles and will be looking at an increased role for the 2024 season. Will Anderson Jr. had a quiet night with just one tackle. A fully healthy Anderson in 2024 will be looking at a potential ten-sack season and leaves us with plenty to be excited about. DeMeco Ryans led the talented young group on a magical season and we'll all be fascinated to see what the team can do in the years to come.

For the Ravens, Marlon Humphrey missed the game with a lingering injury but, the possibility for a Super Bowl ring lives on.

Alabama Football rookies continue to fuel the Lions

Watching the Detroit Lions and the Alabama Football rookies is incredible but, makes you regret how much talent was wasted with Bill O'Brien and Pete Golding as coordinators. Jahmyr Gibbs continues to electrify as he rushed nine times for 74 yards and a touchdown while catching four passes for 40 yards. The only rookie that looks more impressive than Gibbs is his Alabama Football teammate Brian Branch, who continues to fill the stat sheet. Branch finished the game with nine tackles, a sack, and two tackles for a loss. Jameson Williams made his presence felt as well catching two passes for 35 yards.

Alabama Football: Let's go Lions

No team remaining has a bigger representation of Alabama Football alumni than the Detroit Lions. The 49ers winning would give Cameron Latu a ring, the Ravens winning would give Marlon Humphrey a ring, and both the Chiefs and Bills are without Alabama Football alumni. The Lions have been one of the most fun teams all postseason thanks in part to how exciting Gibbs and Branch are to watch. The Lions and Ravens are the teams to root for in Conference Championship weekend if you want to see the Alabama Football program on the biggest stage.
