Alabama Football lands top receiver in the state
Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Football team picked up another massive win on the recruiting trail with in-state WR Derick Smith committing to the Tide. Smith is the 51st-ranked player in the 2025 recruiting class and the sixth-ranked receiver in the class. Smith chose Alabama over Georgia and Auburn among several other schools.
The latest commitments of Derick and Zymear Smith move the 2025 signing class to the 13th-ranked class in the nation.
Early on Kalen DeBoer has been impressive recruiting in-state landing Ryan Williams and now holds commitments from four of the top 15 recruits in the state.
The hiring of wide receivers coach Jamarcus Shephard has been vital in recruiting early on and will continue to be key for the Alabama Football team. Three of Shephard’s former players will be high selections in this year's draft a valuable tool in recruiting high caliber receivers. It’s important to appreciate the greatness of Shephard while it lasts as he’ll be fielding offers every season.
The Alabama football team is still in play for several top recruits in this year's class early on. The team has crystal balls for Quanell Farrakhan Jr, Luke Metz, and Darrell Johnson all of whom are four-star recruits by one of the major publications.
Alabama Football: Tune is quickly changing on DeBoer
Early on Alabama Football’s rivals laughed at the idea of Kalen DeBoer coming in and landing major recruits at Alabama. Just a few months into the job Kalen DeBoer has won major battles both in-state and against national competitors while also nailing the transfer portal. The 2025 recruiting class will be the first true class to judge DeBoer on. Based on his hot start he’ll be perfectly fine at Alabama. Kalen DeBoer has won all over the country with lineups far less talented than the groups he will lead while at Alabama.
