If it wasn’t for his complicated history with Alabama Kiffin may be the perfect choice. However, Kiffin is regarded, in many ways fairly, as a bit of a loose cannon, and that would be a big change for Alabama’s administration. Saban was the model of consistency, so Kiffin’s entertaining, outspoken, and at times arrogant style might be a tough pill to swallow.
However, Kiffin has ties to Saban and the program from his three years as the team’s offensive coordinator and has clearly shown an ability to build an SEC program into a winner. Ole Miss might be the dark horse pick to win the conference right now, but Kiffin could become the perennial favorite in the SEC West at Alabama.
