Alabama Football recruiting update after Junior Day
Keeping Anthony Rogers committed will be vital for Kalen DeBoer and retaining running backs coach Robert Gillespie will be massive in the recruitment of Rogers. Gillespie was one of the primary recruiters for Rogers when he initially committed and the pair have stayed in contact throughout the coaching change.
The biggest position to keep an eye on in this recruiting cycle is quarterback especially after Julian Sayin transferred to Ohio State. None of the major quarterback recruits in the 2025 recruiting class visited Tuscaloosa for Junior Day but, that's not for a lack of interest either. USC commit Julian Lewis has been a clear priority for Kalen DeBoer and his staff with the coaching staff re-offering Lewis while visiting his high school. If Lewis decides to come to Alabama, he'll be throwing to his high school teammate Caleb Odom who's a part of the 2024 signing class. Lewis spoke on Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Football program after being offered again saying the following:
"Hes real straight forward, we laughed because Im bigger than he thought I was. We also talked a little ball, but not much, just got to know each other a little. My dad is going to look at our schedule and see when we can get over for a visit."

There are a few other quarterbacks to keep an eye on in this recruiting class as well. The first name to watch is KJ Lacey, the Saraland native is committed to Texas but, the signing of his high school teammate Ryan Williams may help the staff in keeping Lacey in-state. Mississippi native Deuce Knight will be a target for Kalen DeBoer with the staff re-offering Knight. DeBoer will have connections with the Knight family after serving as the offensive coordinator for Knight's brother Ty Fryfogle at Indiana.
Offensive tackle has been a point of emphasis for the staff early on with the staff prioritizing a few of the top recruits. In-state tackle Micah DeBose is one of the top overall targets for the staff and although he was at LSU for the weekend the new staff has been in contact with him. Jamey Mosley traveled to Mobile to reoffer the top tackle while Kalen DeBoer and Kane Wommack visited Vigor High School to further build the relationship.
