Alabama Football: Signing Day mid-day report
Alabama Football is off to a fast start on Early Signing Day, as things currently stand the Alabama Football team has received 13 signed letters of intent with eight expected letters of intent still waiting to be received. The Alabama Football class has jumped from fourth heading into the day to second place as Ohio State and Florida State have both lost commits while they may lose a few more as the day progresses.
As we currently stand the biggest names to watch are Eddrick Houston, Kevin Riley, Aeryn Hampton, Jadan Baugh, and Steve Mboumoua. Eddrick Houston is the 33rd-ranked prospect according to 24/7 Sports and has been committed to Ohio State for a while however, a late visit to Tuscaloosa has many expecting Houston to commit to the Crimson Tide at Noon Central Time. Aeryn Hampton over the last 24 hours has seemingly drifted his feelings from Texas to Alabama. One of the top athletes in the country Hampton was expected to play Safety at Texas but, a late visit from Tommy Rees strongly has him considering playing receiver at Alabama. Hampton will also announce his commitment at Noon Central time.
The soonest we'll hear from a target is at 11 central time as Steve Mboumou announces his commitment. The Cameroon native plays his high school football in Canada and has had a strong relationship with Defensive Line coach Freddie Roach leading to many crystal balls to Alabama.
Late in the afternoon, we'll get news on running backs Kevin Riley and Jadan Baugh. Riley is a Tuscaloosa native who's committed to Miami but, like Houston, a late official visit has many expecting Riley to end up with the Tide. Riley will announce his commitment at 1 PM central time and there's a strong chance he ends up staying in Tuscaloosa. If Alabama Football doesn't land Riley I'd fully expect them to land Jadan Baugh. Baugh decommitted from Arkansas on Monday and is considering either Florida or the Alabama Football Program. As the Alabama signing class lacks a running back I'd fully expect Baugh to sign with Alabama Football if the don't land Riley with a possibility they sign both.
Alabama Football: Alabama may end up with top class in 2024 cycle
24/7 Sports currently ranks Alabama Football as the second-best recruiting class in the 2024 cycle behind only the Georgia Bulldogs. The Alabama class has already jumped two spots to the second-ranked class and that's without any potential flips for the Alabama Football team. The signing period won't end for Alabama with early signing day as they'll have to protect crown jewel Ryan Williams until the next signing period as Williams waits until his birthday to sign his letter of intent.
