As the remainder of the season is spent away from Bryant-Denny Stadium we'll use this blog to give everyone their Alabama in the NFL update. Alabama Football alumni shined in week 16 setting records, clinching playoff births, and created highlight reel plays.

Amari Cooper sets Browns franchise records

Amari Cooper had the greatest performance of all players this weekend setting Browns franchise records with his performance. Amari Cooper's 265-yard day was the most ever by a Browns receiver, the most in the NFL this season, and his career high. Amari finished the day with 11 catches for 265 yards and two touchdowns with a performance that reminded us all of his 2014 season.

Christian Barmore hat trick leads to Patriots win.

Against the Denver Broncos Christian Barmore was unstoppable racking up video game numbers in the Patriots 26-23 win. Barmore record eight tackles, three sacks, and a forced fumble in what would be the best performance by an Alabama Football alum in any other weekend. Alabama Football alum Mack Wilson joined in on the sack party with a sack of his own. For the Broncos Jerry Jeudy had three catches for 44 yars, Pat Surtain II had six tackles, and Drew Sanders added three of his own.

Jahmyr Gibbs scores twice Brian Branch shines as duo helps clinch Lions Playoff Birth

The Detroit Lions clinched the NFC North on Sunday in a large part thanks to two Alabama Football Alumni. Jahmyr Gibbs gave the Lions 100 total yards and two touchdowns one of which was the game winner to help punch the Lions ticket to the postseason. Gibbs was electric rushing adding a highlight reel juke to his rookie year tape. Brian Branch continues a potential defensive rookie of the year season adding an interception, forced fumble, and a sack to his already impressive resume. Alabama Football alum Jameson Williams added five catches for 53 yards in the win.

Bryce Young has career game despite Panthers loss

In what's become a lost season for the Carolina Panthers the story has turned towards Bryce Young's development. The Alabama Football alumni had the best game of his career so far turning in a 23-36 for 312 yards and 2 touchdown day passing while rushing for 17 yards. Young made several impressive throws late in the game as the Panther tried to overcome a 23-10 halftime deficit. Bryce has now gone three straight games without an interception and has only thrown one interception in his last five games a positive sign in his development.

Tua Tagovailoa leads Dolphins on playoff-clinching drive

Tua Tagovailoa led the Dolphins on a game-winning drive over the Dallas Cowboys helping the Dolphins clinch back to back playoff appearances. Tagovailoa finished the day 24-37 passing for 293 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Tua did find Alabama Football teammate Jaylen Waddle for a 50-yard play before Waddle left the game with an injury. The big play made Jaylen Waddle the first player in franchise history with three straight season with 1,000 yards receiving.

Calvin Ridley scores twice in Jaguars loss

In a losing effort for the Jacksonville Jaguars Calvin Ridley was a bright spot. The Alabama Football alum scored twice catching six passes for 90 yards. In his comeback season Ridley is up to 60 catches for 781 yards and five touchdowns.

Derrick Henry makes history..... Passing

While Derrick Henry rushing for 88 yards on 19 carries for a touchdown is impressive it comes to be expected at this point. What you don't expect is Henry passing for another touchdown. Henry has become the only player since the NFL Merger to record an 80% completion percentage with 5+ TDs passing.

Najee Harris scores as Steelers beat Jordan Battle and Bengals

Najee Harris scored a touchdown in the Steelers' 34-11 win over the Bengals on Saturday helping the Steelers keep their playoff hopes alive. Harris finished the day with 78 yards on 19 carries with the touchdown. Alabama Football alum Jordan Battle recorded seven tackles while Levi Wallace had five of his own.

Devonta Smith scores as Eagles ruin Giants Christmas

Devonta Smith found the endzone in the Eagles' 33-25 victory over the New York Giants finishing the game with four catches for 79 yards and a touchdown. Alabama Football alum Julio Jones added a catch for five yards. Xavier Mckinney led the Giants with a game-high 10 tackles and half a sack. A'Shawn Robinson added three tackles and Eli Ricks added a tackle as well. Jalen Hurts passed for 301 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.

Marlon Humphrey picks off Purdy as Ravens top Niners

Marlon Humphrey and the Ravens' secondary ruined Brock Purdy's Christmas forcing four interceptions on Purdy and five total in the Ravens' win.

Alabama Football: Record-setting week for the Tide

Alabama Football alumni stole the show this week in the NFL with record-setting performances. The story of the week will be Amari Cooper's performance which will be talked about for years as he was unbelievable. Christian Barmore, Marlon Humphrey, and Brian Branch were game wreckers to show the Alabama Football team has a defensive identity despite all this offensive firepower of late. Bryce Young is starting to progress while Jahmyr Gibbs continues to progress overall it was a great week for Alabama Football in the NFL.
