Alabama Football heads to Nashville this weekend fresh off a thrilling 41-34 win over Georgia that elevated the Crimson Tide to the No. 1 ranking in the AP Poll. It will be the 84th meeting between Alabama and Vanderbilt, in a series that has unsurprisingly been pretty one-sided.

Alabama leads the all-time series 60-19-4. The Crimson Tide has won the last 23 meetings against the Commodores dating back to 1984. Vanderbilt pulled a surprising win in Tuscaloosa 30 years ago for their last win in the series.

Prior to that, Vanderbilt's last win was in 1969 in Nashville. The 'Dores have beaten the Tide just twice in the last 68-years.

Vanderbilt actually won eight of the first 10 meetings on the gridiron between the two, but Alabama has dominated the modern history of the matchup.

The two last met two years ago in Tuscaloosa, a 55-3 Crimson Tide victory. Jalen Milroe saw game action in 2022 as he served as Bryce Young's backup. Milroe played some of the second half, completing 4-of-6 passes for 10 yards and rushing for 20 yards on two attempts.

The last time the two met in Nashville was 2017, in the infamous "Alabama you're next" game where the undefeated 3-0 Commodores battled Alabama in the rare ranked vs. ranked game when these two meet.

Alabama throttled Vanderbilt 59-0, highlighted by a freshman QB named Tua Tagovailoa coming into the game in the second half and doing this:

Alabama and Vanderbilt have a long history of playing one another, meeting in every season from 1929-2002. They've met only five times since that 2002 meeting, however.

The matchup history has been lopsided, as one would expect considering the standing of each program. When Vanderbilt plays Auburn later this season, it'll be a lot more interesting as the Commodores have the opportunity to tie the all-time series with the Tigers.

Next. Alabama still king. Like it or not, college football still belongs to Alabama. dark
