Traditional poll voters have spoken and not one squeak of complaint should come from any Alabama Crimson Tide fan. After its inexcusable loss to Vanderbilt, Alabama got what it deserved in the polls after Week 6 of the season.
In the new AP Poll, the Alabama Crimson Tide dropped six spots, from No.1 to No. 7. The Tennessee Vols dropped four spots to No. 8 and the Missouri Tigers plummeted 12 spots to No. 21. The biggest gain by an SEC team was The Texas A&M Aggies who jumped up 10 spots to No. 15. The Vanderbilt Commodores were No. 30 in the voting in the group of 'Other Receiving Votes' teams.
In the Coaches Poll, the Crimson Tide dropped five spots to No. 7. In poll points, Alabama was closer to Miami at No. 6 than it was to Ole Miss at No. 7. The Tennessee Vols also dropped five spots, down to No. 9. Texas A&M was the second-highest, Coaches Poll vote gainer, rising seven spots to No. 14.
The biggest losers in the latest Coaches Poll were Michigan, down 11 spots to No. 21, and the Missouri Tigers, down nine spots to No. 18.
Vanderbilt did not crack the Top 25 in the Coaches Poll. The Commodores are No. 38 in the 'Others Receiving Votes' group of teams.
