Alabama seemingly hasn’t missed a beat in its transition from Nick Saban to Kalen DeBoer. Under DeBoer and a largely retooled coaching staff, the Crimson Tide has been a force on the recruiting trail this offseason. Bama’s 2025 class currently ranks second in the country with several big fish still out there.

The Tide was particularly aggressive in recruiting the linebacker position early on. It holds commitments from 3-star Luke Metz as well as 4-star ‘backers Duke Johnson, Jaedon Harmon, and Abduall Sanders. Add in a fearsome edge tandem in Dawson Merritt and Justin Hill, and Bama should be set at linebacker for years to come.

Alabama made a huge push along the offensive line this summer. 4-stars Michael Carroll, Jackson Lloyd, and Micah DeBose, along with 3-star Mal Waldrep, all committed in the month of June alone. The Tide remains in hot pursuit of 5-star tackle Ty Haywood, who would round out a loaded haul up front.

Alabama’s defensive back class isn’t huge by any means. In fact, the recent decommitment of Zymear Smith left Bama with just three secondary commitments in the class. Still, Dijon Lee, Derick Smith, and Chuck McDonald are all top-100 players who combine to form a dynamic trio. With this group set to join forces with Bama’s 5-man 2024 defensive back haul, which included three 5-stars, the future looks very bright in the Alabama secondary.

The Tide’s latest recruiting push has been at the wide receiver position. JaMarcus Shephard has proven to be electrifying as a recruiter, and Bama is in the mix for several of the nation’s best pass-catchers as a result. With 3-star Lotzeir Brooks already in the boat, Alabama is the favorite for 5-star Caleb Cunningham and is heavily in the mix for fellow 5-stars Kaliq Lockett and Derek Meadows.

Meadows just delayed his commitment announcement until next weekend, while Lockett is expected to announce in early August. This receiver class is still very much up in the air, but it has the potential to be one of the best in the country.
