Three Alabama Football Offensive Questions

  • Running Back - Will Kalen Deboer stick with a main workhorse as he did at Washington? Only one Husky running back got more than 44 carries last season. That does not mean that DeBoer undervalues a rushing attack. With Alabama's offensive line, running the ball will make more sense than it did at Washington. In addition, the Crimson Tide has three running backs who would start on many SEC teams. Will DeBoer go with a 1A-1B situation, rotating Jam Miller and Justice Haynes? Or could it be that Richard Young is not far behind in the number of carries? Also, how often will DeBoer and Sheridan go with two-back sets? An answer to the last question will not be learned in Fall Camp.
  • Wide Receiver - Forget about wide receiver being a weak position group. It is fair to ask if (or when) Ryan Williams will explode, but if that is not until the 2025 season, the Crimson Tide will still be strong at wide receiver. Germie Bernard is a likely starter. So too are Kendrick Law and Kobe Prentice. With Williams, Emmanuel Henderson, Cole Adams, and Caleb Odom, Alabama has rotational depth, as good or better than any SEC team. The big question is how deep will the Tide go at the position.
  • Right Tackle - Kalen DeBoer has spent much of the offseason praising the Tide's offensive line group. Alabama football fans might be gun-shy given how highly last season's offensive line was rated in the preseason. But it appears, Alabama is solid to great at every spot but right tackle. It is believed either Wilkin Formby or Elijah Pritchett will earn that starting role. How well one of them performs will be key for the season.
