The Alabama Football A-Day Game will be much different than the past. It will be structured more like a controlled scrimmage than an actual game. So Crimson Tide fans will miss the old format, but the new one could possibly provide greater insight into the 2024 team.

The 2024 Alabama Crimson Tide is such a young team that job one for fans on Saturday afternoon will be acquainting themselves with the new roster. Next will come sorting through formation and personnel changes implemented by Kalen DeBoer's staff. As with any spring introduction of a new team, not everything will be on display.

Alabama fans could easily compile a list of more than 10 areas that deserve close attention on Saturday. Let's consider five critical to the Crimson Tide's future.

Alabama Football A-Day - Five Key Areas

  • The Quarterbacks - As always spring is about the quarterback position and 'what-ifs'. Jalen Milroe is believed to be firmly in control of QB1. How well Milroe will perform in the new offense will be scrutinized. If any of the other three Alabama QBs appear better suited to run DeBoer's offense, controversy could erupt. There is also speculation that among Ty Simpson, Dylan Lonergan, and Austin Mack, there could be post-spring attrition. Mack is expected to stick, but what about Simpson and Lonergan. The A-Day scrimmage could be a tipping point for one of them.
