Good news possibly coming for Alabama Football Recruiting

Although it is currently basketball, baseball and softball season, it's always a joy to hear when good things happen for Alabama Football.

It has only been a couple of months and Kalen DeBoer along with the rest of his staff is starting to make some headway when it comes to recruiting. Shortly after being hired, DeBoer and Co. were able to land 5-star + WR Ryan Williams, 4-star DL (former Alabama commit) Antonio Coleman, who flipped to Auburn in December, speedy 4-star ATH Zymear Smith, and most recently snagging in-state ATH Derick Smith. Smith was recently crystal balled over on 247sports to land in Auburn by Jeffrey Lee. The good news, however, is Smith (both of them technically), was won over by the new Crimson Tide staff.

Not only were the Tide able to snag those elite recruits, but were able to keep 4-star RB Anthony "Turbo" Rogers, as well as 3-star LB Myles Johnson. If Alabama and this new staff can continue reeling in players of this caliber, DeBoer will receive lots of positive feedback from not only players and fans but also donors.

With just a little under a month until A-Day, two highly sought after recruits will be deciding their college choices here in the next week or two. For starters, #2 overall ATH Darrell "Duke" Johnson will announce his pledge on March 20, while rising 3-star LB Luke Metz will decide Mar. 23, per On3.

As far as where things stand, Alabama stands in a great position with both Johnson and Metz. Johnson likes to throw out some teaser tweets now and then on the platform "X" (former Twitter), and Metz recently received his offer from the Crimson Tide and has all but said he likes his chances of choosing Alabama.

Those who are not familiar with Johnson or Metz should do some homework on them. Metz has offers not only from Alabama but just about every Power 5 school and that number will continue to rise. He reigns from Mill Creek High School in Georgia, the same school that former Alabama DB Caleb Downs played at. At 6'3 210, Metz has not only speed, he has an extra motor in pursuit, as well as solid critical decision making. Johnson essentially speaks for himself being ranked the #2 overall ATH in the 2025 class. Alabama sees him as more of a safety type.

Recruiting is one of those things that is extremely fluid and volatile, whether it's a year away, a day away, or a couple of weeks away. As things stand right this second, I believe Alabama lands 3-star LB Luke Metz. Next, Duke Johnson decides that Tuscaloosa, AL will be his home for the next three to four years and continues the trend of elite talent heading to Alabama.
