How Alabama Football players fared at the 2024 Combine
As NFL Draft season rapidly approaches a few Alabama Football players are fighting to end up selected in the first round of the draft, while several other players fight to rise up the draft boards. There were ten former Alabama Football players invited to the NFL Combine while a few players like Kool-Aid McKinstry didn't participate in the workouts and Jase McClellan didn't participate in field drills.
Dallas Turner - Edge Rusher
The former Alabama Football edge rusher had as good of a combine as ever imaginable. Turner impressed in the forty-yard dash with a 4.47-second mark faster than former Alabama Football players Jalen Hurts and Derrick Henry. Turner also recorded a 40.5" vertical jump and a 10"7 broad jump. Turner showed speed and explosiveness which will sky rocket him up team draft boards showing the ability to play linebacker or traditional defensive line in the NFL.
Before the NFL Combine, Dallas Turner's draft range appeared to start around the tenth pick in the NFL Draft. After an impressive Combine and heading toward Pro Day Turner looks to be solidifying himself as a top-ten draft pick.
Kool-Aid McKinstry - Cornerback
The Alabama Football star was one of the must-watch players headed into the NFL Combine as an all-but-guaranteed first-round selection. The NFL Combines medical evaluations revealed that McKinstry has a Jones fracture in his right foot which held him out of combine workouts. McKinstry will work out at Alabama's pro-day and will be fully recovered before NFL training camp opens up.
The injury will raise concerns among NFL teams even though McKinstry will participate in NFL training camp. McKinstry's draft range is estimated to start near the top ten injury concerns may push him a bit further down team's draft boards.
