Georgia is a slight favorite over the Alabama Crimson Tide. So slight; the spread does not matter. One team will win on the margins. It will be some mixture of talent advantage, scheme, execution, luck, and which team gets the fewest bad calls.
Analyzing 2024 stats is a useless exercise. The sample is too small and the Strength of Schedule (SOS) for Alabama and Georgia is incomparable. ESPN's algorithm currently has Georgia as the No. 43 SOS and Alabama is at No. 114.
Both teams have rosters filled with extraordinary talent. Other than the ability to drive motor vehicles safely, Georgia's roster has no serious deficiency. In the offseason the college football world predicted Alabama would have serious deficiencies in a couple of position groups. So far, the Crimson Tide's limited game experience at wide receiver and at cornerback has been a non-issue.
Trying to determine whether one team has any talent advantage leads to a comparison of position groups. Twelve position groups are listed below. Solely through the power of subjective assessment, each team's talent advantage is defined.

- Quarterback - Carson Beck is an outstanding QB. Beck has no weakness, unless, as some Georgia fans contend, it is his OC, Mike Bobo. Jalen Milroe can do more things than Beck. Nick Saban has explained that Milroe stresses opposing defenses in ways no other SEC QB can. Advantage - Alabama
- Running Back - Georgia has good running backs, but no pair of them equal Alabama's one-two punch on Jam Miller and Justice Haynes. Advantage - Alabama
