On Wednesday when speaking to the media, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer shared more positive injury news regarding star left tackle Kadyn Proctor, who has missed the Tide's first two games of the season after suffering an injury in pre-game warmups for Western Kentucky.
DeBoer said Proctor is "doing well, doing a good job. Really was headed in a really good direction right at the very end of last week. Turned the corner, I think, there. Is in a good spot here. Done a nice job here in the first two days of practice. "
It's obviously great news for Alabama fans to hear that Proctor has been practicing this week, and DeBoer's comments are a second positve update on Proctor this week already, giving further credence to the likelihood of Proctor making his 2024 debut on Saturday at Wisconsin.
Proctor's return should give Alabama a massive boost. The 2023 freshman All-American made major strides through growing pains in his first year, and DeBoer getting him to transfer back to Tuscaloosa after a brief sojourn in Iowa was one of the biggest wins of the offseason for the new head coach.
Proctor's return would allow Tyler Booker to move back to his left guard position, where he has consistently been one of the best in the country. If Elijah Pritchett is healthy enough for a full-game, he should slide into the right tackle position ahead of Wilkin Formby, and give the Crimson Tide a potentially dominant offensive line to lean on in a raucous road environment.
