Who knew after going up 28-0 early into the second quarter that it was going to take a Ryan Williams 75 yard touchdown reception to regain the lead with two minutes left in the game, and a Zabien Brown interception in the endzone to close things out for the Crimson Tide Saturday night?

After what was arguably a perfect first quarter for Alabama from the play on the field to the playing calling from both Nick Sheridan and Kane Wommack business started to pick up. There were several times in the second quarter where the Tide could have given the knockout punch but weren't able to finish with touchdowns and that allowed the Bulldogs to keep their heads above water.

Georgia was a completely different team in the second half and that is what you expect from a team coached by the great Kirby Smart. You just had the feeling after Bama was only being able to score 2 points in the final 12 minutes of the second quarter that Georgia may have a push in the second half. Honestly, I never thought it would get as close as it did Saturday night, but sometimes having to hold on after losing a huge lead does better for a team than not being tested at all.

We learned a lot about both teams throughout the game and you get the feeling this probably won't be the last time we see Alabama play Georgia this season.

Despite the game becoming way more nerve racking than it should have we can't let it overshadow how special this win was for this new staff and how special this Alabama team can be. From Jalen Milroe's command of the offense, to the freshman phenom Ryan Williams, and the overall play of the defense you get the feeling there won't be many if any who can beat Alabama.

Yes, there is plenty for this team to get better at, but you remember it is still September and it was the Georgia Bulldogs who the Tide were able to hold on against. There aren't going to be too many other teams who will be able to pull themselves off the mat after the early Tide onslaught like Kirby Smart's team did in the second half. Much will be learned from tonight's game and I am confident no matter the team, if we jump out to a big lead early that team early there won't be near the drama that was witnessed in the fourth quarter.
