Latest Alabama Football Recruiting Updates from the On3 Elite Series
This week is a massive recruiting weekend for many of the top schools, specifically Alabama Crimson Tide. This weekend is the first recruiting weekend of the Summer as the entire Alabama team reports to campus for Summer workouts. The majority of Nation's top recruits are all starting the week in Nashville for the On3 Elite Series where there's a ton of recruiting news emerging. The Tide will then host 12 players on campus for official visits with the following stories of note:
Five Star Cornerback Dijon Lee sets commitment date
Dijon Lee is one of the Nation's top cornerbacks, ranked by On3 as a five-star, the Nation's fifth-ranked cornerback, and the 30th-ranked recruit overall. Dijon Lee has set an official date for his commitment as he plans to pick his next school on June 28th. Lee's final five consists of Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, Texas, and Washington. The recruitment, however, appears to be a 50/50 battle between Georgia and Alabama with On3 giving Alabama the edge. Landing Lee would give Alabama the first five-star recruit in it's 2025 recruiting class thus far. The Tide will host Lee from June 21st to June 23rd right before he makes his announcement.
Alabama Football still holding off Auburn for two Alabama commits
Thus far, Alabama has held firm commitments from Four-Star linebacker Darrell Johnson and four-star athlete Derick Smith. The issue for the Tide is holding schools off as signing day is about seven months away. Auburn has been pushing hard for both players with Johnson set to visit Auburn on June 14th and Derick Smith visiting Auburn on June 7th. If Smith ends up at Auburn it's because he wants to play receiver as Alabama sees him as a safety. Johnson did tell On3 that he's "1,000% locked in" with Alabama but, still taking visits.
Tide looking to make up some ground this weekend
This weekend, the Alabama Football team will play host to a five-star, seven uncommitted four-star recruits, and a three-star recruit. Among the players visiting will be five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood who grew up an Alabama fan yet, they trail in his recruitment. The Tide will host four-star quarterback Keelon Russell who the Tide have made their top priority however, he's still committed to SMU. The Tide will also push to flip Georgia commit Jadon Perlotte who was among the first players to receive scholarship offers upon the coaching change.
Building up for an exciting Summer
The Alabama Football program has made it a yearly tradition of going on massive hot streaks on the recruiting trail in July and that may not change under Kalen DeBoer. The Tide remain locked in with a massive amount of talent in this recruiting class and the commitments may start rolling in. The next month will see just about 50 recruits in this 2025 recruiting class make their way to Tuscaloosa with the potential of adding more.
