Measuring 2024 NFL Draft success through three rounds
By Ronald Evans
Even with four rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft yet to happen, it is possible to name the teams that are NFL Draft winners.
An early conclusion can be made because it is widely accepted that NFL teams use each Draft's top 100 picks to select future NFL starters. Some in the top 100 are believed to have the potential to be year-one starters, but all the top 100 are believed to be potential starters by their second or third season.
Outside the top 100 players, NFL teams are seeking roster depth. There are exceptions in which late-round picks achieve NFL success but it happens infrequently.
Given the above premise, let's measure what SEC teams have succeeded in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Six SEC football programs had no Top 100 players drafted: Arkansas, Auburn, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
