  • South Carolina Gamecocks - The FPI shows South Carolina was a 6-win team. After last season's 5-7 record, there is no guarantee a 7-win season will be enough for Shane Beamer. His seat may not be blazing hot, but six wins may not be enough. Other than beating ODU, Akron, Vanderbilt, and Wofford, South Carolina has no easy wins. An early road win over Kentucky seems essential for the Gamecocks to reach six wins.
  • Tennessee Vols - Fans of the Vols want to believe Tennessee is a Playoff team. The FPI pegs Tennessee's Playoff chance at 36.9%. Assuming the Vols will lose to Alabama and Georgia, wins over North Carolina State in week two and at Oklahoma in week four should be enough to get them to 10-2 and into the Playoffs. Home games against Florida and Kentucky should be wins.
  • Texas A&M Aggies - Fans of the Aggies are relieved to have Mike Elko in College Station. I recently flipped an earlier assessment of the Aggies from overrated to underrated. Eight or nine wins are realistic. What could be huge for the Aggies is when Texas comes to College Station on Nov. 30. Knocking off the Horns, even if only A&M's sixth or seventh win would be huge for the program's trajectory.
