DeVonta Smith had just won the Heisman trophy and he proved that he deserved it with seven catches for 130 yards and three touchdowns against the Fighting Irish. Alabama got out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and in the fourth led by 31-7 in the fourth quarter. Ian Book added a garbage time rushing TD to make this game look closer than it was.
